I probably fall squarely into the 'mad' category for actually signing up for this.

tardis_bigbang

As I mentioned earlier, my LOTR muse has probably been feeling neglected, with bunnies generally being directed in the way of other fandoms. Mostly age of sail and Doctor Who at the moment.

This is an attempt to get some of them out of my head and onto paper. Some have been hanging about for several months now, and they need to earn their keep.

and here they are, our lucky contestants!Collapse )

Don't know whether they'll all get written (the minimum word count is 20,000, after all - yikes!), but we'll see. The promise of pretty art tempts...

Edit: Alas, I had to withdraw before the writing deadline, as the challenges of RL prevented me from starting *anything*. I'm hoping that this will be going on again next year, so I can give it a go again.

And in the meantime, I'm looking for something to get the creative juices up and running again.

Watch this space....

...how about, possibly all three?

Just a note to let all who read this know what's been going on lately. The muse seems to have deserted me for a while, and I'm trying to lure it back. The plotbunnies still have no trouble breeding, though.

My Lord of the Rings muse seems to be pretty keen on taking that extended holiday (or else, it's sulking because it's been overlooked by various other fandom muses), because I haven't gotten the inspiration to write anything LOTR for a very long time now. I do have mid semester break coming up, so hopefully I'll have time to sit down and revisit some of the ideas I gathered waaay back for au100 and 25fluffyfics .

Emphasis on 'hopefully'. Gawd, I'm such a terribly bad procrastinator....

I really shouldn't be getting ahead of myself, especially not when I stil have the au100 stuff to finish, but I was browsing through 25fluffyfics, and a particular character practically begged me to write fics about him :D

But that wasn't the end of the story. Oh no. His son decided that he wanted a piece of the action too.

And this is the end result.

25 fluffy fics each for Denethor AND Faramir/Eowyn o_0

you probably know the drill..click here for the tablesCollapse )

I feel really, really nervous posting this little story, as it is the first piece of fanfiction that I have ever posted on the internet. Also, because it contains members of the House of Hurin, and I know how well some people on my friends list love those guys :D

Anyway, here goes nothing....

**

Title: The Stranger in the Tower
Fandom: Lord of the Rings
Characters: Faramir, Boromir, Denethor, various assorted OCs, and one Old Man.
Prompt: #024 - Family
Word Count: 2,935 words (Yikes!)
Rating: G
Author's Notes: the ‘pilot episode’ for my AU universe ‘The Other Grandfather’.

Faramir goes searching for books, but finds more than he bargained for when he decides to try entering the Madman’s Tower.

Disclaimer : I am not J.R.R. Tolkien, so I do not own the brilliant world, the concepts, or the majority of the characters. The only characters that belong to me are Brethil, Mardil and Hildigor. I may derive a giant headache from attempting to write 100 AU stories, but I do not gain any profit from these stories. Except satisfaction. (Or so I’m told). I am just borrowing them for a while, and will return them (mostly) unscathed.
My stories are bookverse – when they’re not diverging from canon, that is. They are also un-betaed – for the moment. If anybody would like to be my beta-reader, please let me know.

I'm a sucker for punishment...so I've finally given in and decided to do au100 for Lord of the Rings, in an attempt to work out the various AU plotbunnies running around in my head.

100 Tales of the Road Less Travelled...or the big damn tableCollapse )

Now, let's see how long it takes to write them...hopefully, now that I've actually entered au100, it might prompt me to write stuff. But we'll see...

Also testing out my new icon that I will be using for au100 (for the moment, until I can find a more appropriate lotr one)

And welcome to my writing journal!

I am your humble host, piaffe, and here you will find my random scribblings dedicated to my various fandoms.

I write mostly fanfiction. My current 'poison' at the moment is Lord of the Rings, but I also dabble in Star Trek, M*A*S*H and Doctor Who.I enjoy reading stories about Buffy & Angel, Harry Potter, Firefly/Serenity and Stargate (Atlantis & SG-1), and there are probably a few others that I haven't mentioned.

Once I get confident, I may post a few snippets of original fic which I have also written.

Fanfic challenges will also be placed here. I'm working on moving my au100 work (all one piece of it LOL) here.

I also enjoy playing around with graphics from time to time, so you might get some photomanipulations or icons on here, as an added bonus.

So sit back, and enjoy the show.

And don't mind the plotbunnies. They don't bite. Much.
